The winner of the best Fairy Tale Cocktail last month was from Nancy Tasca. She sent an entire story! Here is what she sent:

Once upon a time I worked very very hard at my job behind the pine of a little known barstaurant.  The manager had received a promotional case of 'Tequila Rose' which we were forced to push the concoction as if we were charlatans selling snake oil.   Face to face with the flask it seemed to come to life and mock me.  "You'll never be rid of me...." Tequila Rose mocked  "I'll  cling to the glass even after a run in the wash...I make pink scum on your bottle brush and I beg to be blended....ah hah hah haaah..."  Something had to be done and fast.  I reached for its' neck and it alluded me I grabbed the bottle next to it, Jim Beam Black.  My trusty friend out in a costume but I knew him to well for the disguise.  "Dear friend you must help me" I pled to him.   "I'll show it up throw me together in a glass with it and we'll see who's who." Jim Beam Black responded.  I did just that on the rocks in a pint glass and I then topped it with a steel top (Boston shaker style) I let them fight.. "Shake it up Jim"  I cheered him on.  Alas there was no response. Silence. I decided to peek but the rocks would have to be removed.  Strained into a chilled martini glass is how Jim likes it.  "Come on buddy" The result was a homogenous mix the love child it was beautiful I'll call it "Black Rose" but for my fairy tale name it shall be known as.."The Savory Woolgather Potion" I have found this child loves grenadine (perhaps blood from the fight/birth)and a maraschino cherry fun martini garbage to play with while you act coy with your new friend.

Enjoy the Bartenders Black Book Nancy!
